10. What I have learned from this course?

This is the last task for writing journal in the course of Reading and Writing for Academic Purposes II, I am very happy that I have finished studying. This course helps me to improve all of skills, especially writing and reading skills. In this course, I have practiced reading and writing about academic articles, and research articles. Moreover, I have discussed the questions that related to the articles as a whole class and pair work. This activity, I had the opportunity to speak and share ideas in English with my friends. When I presented my discussion to the teacher, she always corrects my speech when I spoke so I can know the errors in my speech and I can improve them when I have to speak next time.
The teacher is very kind and she always smile which made the nice and warm atmosphere in the class and every students would like to learn with her.
She always encourages me to speak and express my opinions that made me have more confident to speak in the class. I have learnt the about academic vocabulary and I can use them with confidence in speaking and my writing journal. Furthermore, I have learnt several techniques and methodologies when the teacher use with me such as jigsaw learning that enables each student of their group to learn one segment. Students meet with members from other groups who are assigned the same segment, and after return to their group and teach the segment to their group members. This is the best ways to teach students if there are many details of the lesson.
Finally, I would like to thank you all my friends that they help me in everything and give me advice about studying and general things. And I would like to thank you the teacher that you give me knowledge and advice about studying. Whatever I said or whatever I did that caused you were angry and unsatisfied, I would like you to forgive me because I didn’t mean. I love my friends and the teacher. To the last of my writing, I promised that I will bring the knowledge and techniques that you use with me to adapt with my teaching. I will be a good and kind teacher like my teacher.

9. Concern about Global Issue

In our world, there are many global issues that affect us; they affect our economies, our politics, our environment, our daily life, and overall living condition. Some of these issues are global warming, population growth, poverty, racism, human rights, economic crisis, and etc. They can not be handled by nation states alone but they must require cooperation among nations and international actions. If there is a conflict among nations, those issues will not be solved and they are ignored. Global issue issues are important for everyone is as citizens in the world, even though those issues affect them directly or indirectly. All issues are problems that everyone should concern and appreciate them. We can cooperate with governments or people who implicated with those issues to help them solve problem that occur in our countries.
Global warming is the issue that I concern the most because it affect to all of us directly. Global warming is a major cause of several natural disasters that occurring in our world nowadays so all of us should not ignore this problem. As I see in my writing about climate change, we can prevent it now before it happen or disseminated to all of countries.

8. Climate Change

I have read news about global warming from the internet and newspaper, watched television, listened to the radio, and I have read the article about climate change, several reports claimed that average temperatures have risen and continue warming, thus our world is facing with serious problem because climate change which leads to global warming and natural disaster. The climate of the earth is always changing. As we are likely to see some areas will be warmer, but some will be cooler, sea levels may rise, flooding, etc. As we know the greenhouse effect is very important when we talk about climate change as it relates to the gases which keep the earth warm. It is important to be aware of the human causes in order to prevent global warming from occurring. Some people don’t concern about global warming and they think it is not happen. But I think they are misunderstood because global warming is real and it is happening.

What can we do to protect ourselves from that? Nowadays, there are campaigns to persuade people to prevent global warming such as using cotton bags instead of plastic bags, plant trees to help the environment, that’s what we always hear and etc.

In the future, it’ll be an uncontrollable global warming. We can’t do anything about it when it happens but we can prevent it now.

7. Trip on New Year 2009

I had the opportunity to go to Prachuap Khiri Khan with my relatives on holiday but it was the terrible trip that I ever had. Ok, I’m ready to tell you. There were about 15 people and took three cars on this trip. Our destination was Ao Manao. We left the house at nine p.m. and we arrived to Ao Manao at midnight. When we reached to Ao Manao, we met a soldier who takes care there. He told us that “Ao Manao was already closed and opened at six a.m.” All of us were very disappointed and then we had to look for a hotel to stay. We took several to look for a hotel because most of hotels were full. At last, we could find a hotel to stay but there were only small 4 rooms for us. In my room, there were 4 people stayed. In the morning, we went to Ao Manao that already opened. This bay is located five kilometers from Prachuap Khiri Khan township area and it is taken care of by the Royal Thai Air Force. It is a clean beach with nice nature suitable for swimming. That day, there were a few of people on the beach and it was very quite so my uncle changed to go to Khao Takiap instead. Next our destination is Khao Takiap, this hill is situated at the southern end of Hua Hin, only 4 kilometers from the town. There is a temple call Wat Khao Takiap situated on top of the hill. The nearby Khao Takiap Beach offers mostly bungalow accommodations. When we reached to there, we just only saw the delightful views through car window because my uncle didn’t stop the car and he continued to the next place. I felt bored, tired, and uncomfortable because I had to stay in the car until we reached to the next destination. At noon, we reached to Hua Hin beach and I felt very glad because I always go to Hua Hin on holiday. The beach is very clean, the sea is crystal clear, and the sand is finely hence I like this beach so much. My uncle led us to look for chair to rent but there were only foreigner along the beach and there were no Thai people there. Do you think, what happened next? If you guess that my uncle changed the place to go, you bet. Finally, we went to Cha-um beach that was suitable and we took about three hours to swim and eat seafood. It was the wonderful time in there. At the end of the trip, we bought desserts as a souvenir beside the road and we reached to the house at seven p.m. I need to go to sleep at once when I arrived to my home.
